ZONING HEARING BOARD VACANCY
Due to the rising costs of the Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority Landfill fees, the Borough has been forced to increase the quarterly trash fee from $70 to $80. This amount will be reflected in the 1st quarter bills which will be sent out March 1st.
Pennsylvania American Water
has begun sewer line upgrades in the area of Sixth and Seventh Avenues at South Culvert Street. Local road closures can be expected in the area during this time from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; access by local residents, school buses, and emergency vehicles will be maintained by the construction company. This project is expected to be completed by April.
PA American is still working to replace the water main, as well as utility-owned service lines and fire hydrants along S. Gay Street from W. 1st Avenue to W. 4th Avenue. Final paving restoration is scheduled to be completed in the spring. Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. At its regular meeting on November 19th, the Borough Council enacted Ordinance No. 533 - An Ordinance adopting regulations governing the use of consumer grade fireworks and providing penalties for violations of such regulations and the permitting of display fireworks in the Borough.
