The Borough of Parkesburg operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Seven council members are elected at large for four-year overlapping terms.

Borough Council is responsible for setting policies, adopting a budget and major decision making. Borough Council is currently organized into the following functional committees with an individual member of council serving as chairperson of each committee: Police & Fire, Finance, Parks & Recreation, Streets & Property and Progress & Development.

 
 
 
 
 


Council is assisted by a Borough Manager who acts as chief administrator for the Borough and is responsible for implementing Borough policies, overseeing personnel, controlling financial management and preparing the annual budget. Parkesburg's Mayor is also elected at large for a four-year term.

The Mayor is responsible for the administration of the Police Department.

The official meetings of the Borough Council are held on the first and third Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 pm. The Planning Commission meets the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. The Zoning Hearing Board meets on an as needed basis. All Zoning Hearing Board meetings are advertised in a local paper. All meetings are held at the Borough Hall and are open to the public.
